Autodesk Inventor allows you to create a single part drawing called an iPart that can be used to generate a family of similar components. The general design of the part is the same but the sizes change from one family member to another.
We recommend that you store iParts in folders in a Meridian vault separate from other Autodesk Inventor documents (projects, standard parts, and so on) that use the iParts. To place an iPart into an assembly drawing that is managed by Meridian, select it from the vault using Application Integration. For an example of this folder structure, see the Mechanical vault that can be created from the Mechanical.met configuration file that is included with Meridian.
